Gratitude Way Medicine Man Counseling & Coaching – jerry@gratitudeway.org
Sonoma County, CA/Josephine County, Oregon
I work and serve the community in the border zone between coaching and medicine man consulting and health education. I am initiated in the Dagara tradition of Burkina Faso, Africa and also in the Anishinaabe/Shawnee lineage of my ancestors. I offer consultations, divinations and workshops to clients, schools, workplaces and communities in Sonoma County, California and Josephine County, Oregon. I mostly focus on practical education about how we can achieve harmony and wellness, ease stress, find our “mojo” and practice safety and good boundaries.
As a coach, I help clients to become more deeply aware of their own bodies, develop healthy boundaries, find inner resources to overcome moments of crisis, and experience greater peacefulness, safety and relief from stress. I teach my clients techniques to settle and regulate their nervous systems so they gain the skills to calm themselves and their children. I also help clients “find their mojo” – a combination of mind, body & spirit work to develop an ongoing sense of hopefulness, drive and energy.
Through divinations I do not predict the future but rather work to open a lens for the Wedeme, spirits of the earth, to speak to us and give us another view through which to learn about questions and issues about which my clients are concerned. Every client maintains free will and makes their own life decisions. All work is bound by client confidentiality.
I only do divination work with people after we have begun a consultation/coaching process. In that way clients are already versed in my practical education about how we can achieve harmony and wellness, ease stress, find our “mojo” and practice safety and good boundaries. Then divination sessions may be offered to extend our work.
Cost: For all of my work my fee is $120 per 50 minute session. I do offer some sliding scale slots for clients. Feel free to inquire about that.
Background: I hold a masters in public health education from UC Berkeley and a masters in counseling psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies. I’ve been a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist since 1991, and became certified in Somatic Experiencing in 2013. I began my medicine man training in my first vision quest in 1973. I was initiated as a diviner in 2016 under the training and supervision of Theresa Dintino. I studied Aikido for 30 years and received 3 black belts. I live in Oregon and Sebastopol, and enjoy playing music, tending our apple orchard, and spending time with my two wonderful children.
