Having spent more than 25 years studying indigenous medicines, I was delighted to have this medicine find me, and bring me deeply into the Mystery in a way that reaches back out to our everyday lives to enrich the healing and foster great joy, both for the individual and for the community.
Initiated as a stick diviner in the Dagara tradition, I bring a background of philosophical inquiry, integrated medical training, and a passion for language to my practice of this beautiful, ancient medicine. Merged with elemental beings who are both boldly delightful and seriously protective, I strive to find the openings to each client’s state of innate splendor, and encourage deep listening as a means of helping us reach our greatest potentials. As a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), I have often found that clients have ancestral influences which reveal themselves while they are receiving care.
The Dagara tradition also holds such great respect for the ancestors and our intimate relations with them that the two often flow together seamlessly, allowing clients to receive support beyond what they might anticipate. The many aspects of this integrated medicine thus serve to transform our griefs and traumas into strengths and grace.
As a spiritual Midwife to the Dying, I enjoy the opportunity to open the door to the sacred for clients and their families, which so often turns difficult or disturbing situations into beautiful healing journeys for all involved.
