One of the products we are especially fond of at Strega Tree Apothecary is the Wedeme Heart Blend: Heart Opening. When we carried out the divination for the Heart Opening Wedeme Heart Blend, there was a baby present. Wedeme said the baby was dreaming of grass. “Grass is unique to this planet,” they said. “He is dreaming of this because it is about how things grow here. There is sunshine and dew. The plants absorb the sun to grow. He is learning how to grow.”

Then the scene changed to a desolate, barren place. A chain came in to view with a lock on it. It was very thick metal. This place had the feel of an old, paved schoolyard. It was nothing like the beautiful grass. It was a wasteland. It felt abandoned. There was a path that was dry and desolate. Wedeme showed how some people’s hearts are in chains. They showed a chain-link fence around the heart with the lock on it. There were trees along the path but it was dry and stark with dusty gravel. A person was walking the path alone. The wedeme said, “ A long time ago you decided to go it alone and you left your heart under lock and key.”
This is what is being healed with the Heart Opening Remedy. Heart Opening is a gift package designed to bring opening to a human heart through meditation, ritual and surprise. The Cimaruta is an ancient symbol and charm that represents the Streghe/Janarre (Italian medicine) lineage and is also seen to be a potent tool against the evil eye.
The symbol is a stylized sprig of the rue plant (ruta) with various charms hanging off of it, all representative of the craft in varying ways. On the Strega Tree Apothecary’s cimaruta logo hangs the moon, a key, the snake and a flower. We chose these for our logo as they represent the powers that we work with.
Theresa and Annie are a direct descendants of a Strega lineage through their great and great-great-grandmother on their father/grandfather’s Italian side This ancestress is a powerful ally in our work. All Strega Tree diviners are initiated into this lineage since they are initiated through Theresa, Annie or one of her mentees. Janarra is the deeper layer of this lineage.

We spend much of our time listening to the trees.
Strega Tree is a collective of diviners, medicine people, Goddess devotees from many traditions and backgrounds but we spend much of our time out in the wild listening to the trees. The trees are teaching us and guiding us how to walk the path: the path of our ancient ancestors, the path of truth. Many come and all are welcomed. There is much healing offered, many gifts to share.
This time has been foretold: The return of ancient medicine lineages to the planet. This is the time our great-grandparents knew would come, the time they have been waiting for, to return the lineages to the Earth, the ones they tucked away for a time such as this. Who will listen? Who will join?
